Biography of architect zaha hadid

The pleated structure is home to a museum that celebrates all kinds of transportation and is filled with interactive "shops" and vehicles. Literally embedded into a mountainside, this mountain museum designed by Hadid juts out among the Italian Alps. The details of Hadid's work are as breathtaking as her overall structures. The facility is now a public pool. Plagued by delays and overages, Hadid's iconic bridge took over a decade to design and build. The result is a wavy structure designed to spur tourism and business in Abu Dhabi. Her buildings are beautiful—and beauty may account for their seductive urban presence, for their hold on the eye—but the beauty and virtuosity within her work is married to meaning.

Her architecture is inventive, original and civic, offering generous public spaces that are clearly organized and intuitive to navigate. Hadid's breakthrough came in when she won the competition to design the Cardiff Bay Opera House. However, the developer balked at the originality of her design, leading to the project's cancellation after a year and a half of conflicts.

Despite this setback, Hadid's reputation grew. One of her first realized buildings was the Vitra Fire Stationreminiscent of a stealth bomber.
